A farm of marvelous light

The farm holds its own jewel of the Courtois (Ko-tuh-way) river. Our favorite swimming hole, on a bend of the Courtois river, has enraptured this family’s heart for decades and from it was born the name of the farm.

Bend in the Creek Farm has been the family home of four generations. From cozy evenings next to the wood burning stove to long sunlit days splashing in the river, this home has been the saddle of many great memories. The property has always gushed with luscious hardwoods, creeks, spring peepers and twinkling fireflies. We hope to share this lovely Ozark gem held in the Mark Twain National Forest with you.

The nearby small town of Steelville was coined “the floating capital of Missouri” for its numerous waterways that attract canoers, kayakers, and boaters from all over to float its scenic, calm, and crystal clear rivers. Several river resorts nearby offer boat rentals and additional lodging for groups who are interested in floating the scenic waters that wind through Mark Twain National Forest here in the Ozarks.

With a large family, we have always been brimming with ideas, teaming with events, and creating cozy spaces. From large gatherings, trails and the creekside lined with tiki torches, campfires, and homemade meals, we love when people are able to gather and make memories spending time with one another. It’s what we yearn for.
